I remember as a child when the market was the cheapest place to shop in Cork.
Did the place have two fires? I seem to remember the far part open then closed for ages then open and closed again.

Unfortunately, The English Market has taken the difficult decision to cancel our planned event for Culture Night 2022. We are all acutely aware of the pressures facing hospitality and unfortunately this year, we feel that we are not able to deliver the kind of event that our customers have come to know and expect. However, we are looking forward to planning for Culture Night 2023 and hope to welcome you through our doors for an evening of fun, food and culture next year. We thank you for your understanding and hope you enjoy many of the other planned events the city has to offer this year. Are O Sullivan's butchers still there or are they long gone.

Tim O'Sullivan's has been closed for a while. It looks permanent but I don't know.

They're gone, Bresnans next to them are gone, the butcher down by Superfruit went last year (now replaced by an extension of the Roughty Foodie I).

Three butchers gone in the last year alone.
