What reason have the executive to support/recommend it? They have nothing to gain from it.
An even tighter schedule?
A certain man didn't want to have his tail between his legs when he goes back up to Croke Park?

Also, the way delegates vote on these things should be recorded and shared.
 
Interestingly the Executive recommended a vote in favour. To be honest hurling wouldn’t have benefited much, it would have been mostly football as you’d have had a 2 week gap between the hurling and football finals.
I’d say delegates voted against it because county championships would go back 2 weeks meaning club football would not start until mid August and hurling second week in aug presuming cork in both finals . That then would have a knock on affect for dual clubs to have breaks between matches in the groups

spot on, the split season has been brilliant for the club players, if we start eating into their season we are going to see the end of dual players and possibly eventually the end of dual clubs
