Wherever it is built it will be wrong for some areas of the county, the county is just too big and the population too uneven with the road network absolutely chronic in the city and and county plus the added hardship of having a very real divide between hurling and football areas in the county.

Mallow makes sense as its roughly the center of the county but again roads are brutal in and out of Mallow.
I'd love to see it in Ballinora where the Cork summer show gets held as its close enough to the main population center with decent roads but then that's hardly fair on the clubs in the North of the county like Charleville, Newtown etc. It's going to be a tough decision ..........if it ever actually does happen.

I am in 100 percent agreement with R&B. . Put a centre of excellence in the heart of where Hurling is now dominating and growing at an incredible rate with successful teams growing every where at every level.
Put it right in the Heart of Imokilly and let common sense prevail. 😎😎

Unfortunately fin your pipe dream will fall when our esteemed board chairman steps down and the unfair bias towards the boggers of the east will cease (ye have had a fine run of it in fairness)

The city has always been the hone of hurling and central to our success at national level, hence the location of the CEO will be relective of that fact

So my dear friend, you will be visiting and learning from the city slickers for a long time to come

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

All jokes aside ( I was kidding also)
I hope they get this right. They have to be realistic about what and where they are to be putting a place like this.
Infrastructure and being able to get ease of access for players like public transport etc is important and I would also add in a few mini buses or similar to collect and drop players who are young back home if they live outside of a certain area because parents now are so busy and they just don’t have the time anymore imo.
It’s one thing building a place it’s another thing making sure that it works.

I do wonder.

What data set would convince you that this is wildly inaccurate when we’ve had 20 years of Cork hurling failures and 25 years of City hurling losing its dominance.

The problem isn’t raw talent or numbers.
