Worst and busiest jobs on most execs are child welfare officer and treasurer. I'd put them in a corporate box!

They prob are but shouldn’t be.
The child welfare officers in lots of clubs are being asked to do and taking things on that they shouldn’t be. I actually think it’s a ticking timebomb. The GAA has very specific policies and procedures in place to deal with all matters child related and and the minute there’s an issue a lot of clubs are just putting the child welfare officer on it.. policies and procedures non existent or out the window..
A club that’s running in accordance with procedures the child welfare officer should be busy at the start of year alright doing checking vetting and doing the child protection course registrations etc…

I know it varies massively from club to club. I know a senior club that has the child protection officer involved just once in 10 years. I know a junior club where the CPO was down the club 3 nights a week dealing with “issues”

Club member with committee/admistrative/selectorial role = 3 entries in draw.

Club chair & secretary (and underage Chair & Secretary) have to get one. The amount of work & grief involved in those jobs is off the charts. The least they deserve is a ticket.

That's up to the committees in each individual club

I have to agree the idea of 3 enteries to draw isn’t bad either but still there should be some perk for all that hard work and it thankless the people in the top job should get offered 1 ticket but under the proviso they acutely use the ticket

Doesn't happen these days but in 90s some clubs would make people meet them in Dublin for tickets
Far less likely not to go if you have to trek up to Dubland just to collect the tickets

The amount of audits now in the CPO role is unreal. In a big club you could be trying to keep on top of a few hundred people's vetting. Then there's people doing summer camps etc, they all have to be vetted. And the 1000 emails a day saying "I did this in my job, why do I have to do it again for the GAA"

It's the one job I'd never take on.
