Not sure what your point is here, Rebel Og do not grade the teams, the grading committee do that. All the clubs I mentioned above would be predominantly playing Premier 1 or Premier 2 at each grade.

If you’re asking what do they do if they are playing at a lower grade then they would still play in the city region but at the appropriate grade
Are the grading committee part of Rebel Og?

That’s my point. If a club are a sufficient high standard they play outside their region in the county wide grade P1 or P2.

They are but are totally independent ?

Yes that’s right, well all except the city teams who’s region was disbanded when rebel og was formed

Some clubs do yo yo between Premier and the regions which means they have 2 boards to attend but a lot of that could have been avoided if the old city board format was kept for teams in and around the city region

It should happen that a city region is formed. Some clubs at underagr are falling apart or just getting back on their feet.

Only issue I could see in terms of regional grading system is there are very few Div 1 teams from the city.

Mostly Div 2 or 3 if I'm not mistaken. I'm out of the loop a little so I could be wrong.

Not a major issue but one team here or there might need to go to another region to play Div 1 if so.

U12 and U13 have a split season with two phases, the first league is used a grading competition for a second comp that is cups and plates.
I know that, but from 14 up the teams get graded by the grading committee, who use the results from those U12 and U13 competitions

PS you can’t call competitions at U12 & U13 “Cups”. Croke Park in their wisdom done away with it a few years ago ?

I actually think that’s a good move if they implement it. There’s a huge falloff in participation at that age so shifting the focus to participation instead of results would be no bad thing.

Heard Dillons played an u15 match in Castlelyons recently, Match set for 7.30, didnt start until 8pm, Many of the parents
were not impressed as the lads in many cases did not have dinner before going to the match and others had homework to do,

If you drew a circle around the city from Blarney to Ovens to Kinsale to Glanmire then all those clubs should be part of a city region

If there are not enough teams entered at any grade then yes those clubs entered would have to enter a different region at that age

If we take this years U14 Football competitions as the template then the City Board U14 would be

P1
Ballincollig, St Finbarrs, Douglas, Nemo, Carrigaline, Ballinora, Youghal, Macroom

P2
Bishopstown, Clonakilty, Mallow, Macroom, Kiltha Og, Eire Og, Mallow, Erins Own, Glanmire, Kilworth/Araglen

D1
Blarney, Passage, St Michaels, Tracton, Kinsale, St Nicholas, Douglas 2

D2
Sliabh Rua, Crosshaven, Na Piarsaigh, Inniscarra, Grenagh, Whitechurch, Inniscarra, Ballincollig 2

D3
Shamrocks, Glanmire 2, Erins Own 2, St Vincents, Mayfield, Dillons/Delaneys, Ballygarvan

I agree but any hint of a final and “Brian Cody” on the line wants that cup which leads to players not getting game time and drifting away from the game

Dillons minors went one better. We had away matches this year in Doneraile, Kildorrery, Freemount and Dripsey. In the East Board. Ridiculous.
