I hope that journo avoids getting into property investment.

Those figures are a fag packet estimate of the value of the overall development once built. Developers generally work on a 15% profit margin. Cork GAA are fairly clear that they have intention of developing themselves and simply want to sell the site.

No disrespect to posters north of the river, but if Frank had bought out in Maryborough or Bishopstown then we'd be in for a more a lucrative windfall from this.
This was in the 1960s long before Frank's time

According to the Kerryman, Kerry County Board convinced a Chinese millionaire who was putting money in a project for Cork GAA to invest in Fitzgerald Stadium instead.

Can I ask, how is there not uproar about the Sam Quirke/ Midleton situation.
The rules were clearly broken, albeit I don’t really agree with missing a club championship cause of one day. However, fact that other clubs ballinhassig, bride rovers to name a few missed players and didn’t play them. Have charleville just led down in the situation? I know they were “late” with the objection but surely could appeal to a higher body, especially since they now find themselves in relegation final.

The only thing I'd say without knowing the full details is Croke Park overturned the suspension so were Midleton not fully at fault?
Can't see why Croke Park would bother unless they felt the Cork county board were wrong to issue suspensions at all.

Would you be one of those people that roars at a ref when he doesn't blow the whistle for every foul even if it is against your own team.....IF the rules were CLEARLY broken, you must know exactly what was presented in Charleville's appeal and the subsequent Midletons appeal to Croke Park....if show share the details

Likewise i don't have the full details, but I don't think the CCB were wrong to issue the suspensions. As they didn't write the rules, they have no discretionary powers in how to apply them. They have to apply them as written, hence the €200 fine (which is the minimum, and the suspension, although I did think it was a 24 week suspension and not 2 week that should have been applied, but I need to check that.

Basically what the CCB did was say nothing we can do here go annoy Croke Park with this.

Again just to emphasise I don't have any details other then mostly what is written here, but I think Croke Park looked at this and applied the spirit of the law rather than the letter of the law. If it is as mentioned here, punished under the 60 day rule, and it is only hours or even a day under this then really what is the issue.
Again don't know the details, of this case, but if the paperwork was all singed by Midleton and sent into Croke Park, and there was a delay there - a 60 day sanction need to be approve by the Director general.

I don't think we should be stopping players playing with their club for any reason especially for bureaucracy.

Looks like i touched a nerve.
They were broken as the 60 day sanction was not adhered too. Don’t get me wrong I encourage players to go to the states and play and get something out of it, and believe they should be allowed come back and play with their club. Just don’t see how it’s fair other clubs had to do without their players and Midleton didn’t.
