THe Conor Mcgregor thread

Look I'm delighted McGregor got what was coming to him but the fact you can bring a case against some for rape that you know that didn't do it stinks.
You made a point earlier this week about the fact that women don't come forward because of people not believing them and I agreed with but now you have someone bringing a case against someone and it never happened.

I guess her having to pay Lawrence's costs reflect this.

She can't know he didn't do it though. She can only know that she has no recollection of it. So if he's insistent that they had sex, what other option does she have?
She had a recollection of what happened with McGregor, she knew the was no DNA evidence from Lawrence, she never made a complaint in 2019 against him, yet she brings a civil case against him for raping her because he said he had sex with her?

For reasons I have already set out.

I have zero sympathy for Mr Lawrence in this case, because logically there is no way he and Ms Hand had sex. He ended up in civil court because of his own lies.

To give some context to MacKenna's article, in 2017 Ewan wrote a book on McGregor which called out his awful behavior outside the Octagon.

He was threatened by McGregor's legal team . Ewan’s book was ignored by Irish media and sank.

Now Ewan’s piece is being called 'disgusting' by some.

I think he offeres a pretty scathing assessment of McGregor but equally he strays from the current echo chamber consensus of portraying Hand as a hero.
I actually think the apathy towards that book is what flipped the switch for Kenna.

By all accounts its well researched and well written and it was basically ignored by a public high on McGregors shit.

Ewan took it to mean the "establishment" was out to get him

That and the time he was all set to interview Lance at that sports conference thing and Ger Gilroy pissed Lance off so he threw a strop cam cancelled the gig. McKenna was set up to be a knarlier Paul Kimmage bug instead is just a lonely voice on twitter

I've always found him grand to be honest.

Will engage with anyone who has a go on Twitter.

I might not agree with him on a lot but he will at least argue his corner instead of a lot of contrarians who just hit the block button.

His victim blaming is disgusting. As is yours.

No one has suggested that Ms Hand is a hero for drinking, or flirting, or taking cocaine. She behaved like many many other people do at their Christmas party. It is not admirable, but nor is it awful unforgivable behaviour. If Mr McKenna believes that his children will not grow up do such things, or to socialise with people who do then he is delusional.

She is a hero for taking on McGregor and winning. She is a hero for showing that a rape victim does not have to be perfect in order to get some measure of justice.
