They won't. Make public transport cheap and reliable and you'll get people to use it. I've been waiting for a 203 in Patrick Street and seen 7 207s pass by me in the space of an hour. The last 3 pulled away within 3 minutes of each other and left with not a single passenger on them because the 4th bus had left a couple of minutes before.
Same thing happens with the 208. You can have 4 go through Patrick street in a half hour, a few with virtually no one on them. Meanwhile pensioners are left freezing in the cold and rain waiting for a 203 or 214. Something that could be easily fixed.
Try ringing up and complaining though. Go on, try it.
