The Action Plan for Housing.

Yeah and building workers then went to work in other industries instead.
What's left are now at retirement age and are not being replaced.

I think I read that for every three we lose only one is replaced as it's so hard to find workers.

A lot of the polish lads have also returned home so we are banjaxed.

All well and good for politicians to engage in the blame game for their own benefit but when do we actually get around to addressing the situation.

It's an emergency, and everything should be thrown at it.
So many tradespeople have moved to factory work, Cleaner, warmer, not as taxing on the body.

Please let's not rewrite history.

Nama went around and literally shut down any construction/ development company that had debts above a certain amount

Whether you believe that or not, I could not care less, but that is a fact.
Construction had already collapsed in 2008 when banks stopped lending and developers went bust. NAMA was created AFTERWARDs to deal with the bad loans.

My husband was dealing with a guy whose family sold land in West Cork to developer before the first crash, making north of 4 million PROFIT. They then bought the land back in the crash for 20% of what the sold it for, and recently sold it again for 5 million. Now I don't think my husband asked him to see invoices etc for any doubters, but he was told about this guy and his family from others in the area also.

That happened all over the country, land owners made a fortune and subsequently bought the land back on average for 20% of what they sold it for.
I know of 2 cases here in Cork.

You just keep telling yourself that and also that Nama were the saviours of everything.
They were not, again let's not change history.
I know of one case down in West Cork, Nama swooped in shut down a construction company and seized all of their assets.
One of which was a magnificent summer house down west.
It was remarkable how one of the crew of Nama was able to afford to buy that house in the height of it all, but he did.

Garret Doocey is the new housing Tsar, He was previously with the dept of transport, Why do we need a tsar? surely that is the
