The Action Plan for Housing.

Imagine putting council workers/civil servants in charge of building.
Local authorities are almost completely dependent on private companies to build roads, houses etc.

You can't even tax your car in person without making an appointment.
Taxing your car online is as easy as posting on the PROC ;-)

Where would this state owned construction company get tradespeople?
where is the country as a whole going to get them?

Christ almighty, imagine it, the concrete truck arrives on site.
The driver begins the process of conveying the concrete out of the mixer
At the rate the leeches would ( i cannot use the word work because that is not at all appropriate for anyone employed by Government) begin and move the wheel barrows, the fecking concrete would be gone hard in the mixer.

That has got to be the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard, Government leeches building houses 🤣🫣🤣🤣

Also the Government workers would demand also to WFH, to which they would be entitled to

Imagine construction lads WFH.
How fucking productive

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hundreds of houses were built in the 1980s up Fairhill and they are of far better quality (if exceptionally unimaginative) that anything built in 2007 era.
Pay the tradies a proper salary, pension, paid leave, sick pay and such and many will take a role.
People will say no chance but every ICT role pays far less, worse pension, no bonus, no healthcare, and less resources than many equivalent mid/senior roles in the private yet every role has several dozen applicants.

Many people just like the stability and work/life balance.

Government did it in the 60s all the way through to the 90s, when broke, and did it well
