The Action Plan for Housing.

Gould wants more local authority employees, not one bit surprising. Would it ever cross his mind to fire the ones not doing their jobs and replace them with more capable
Well done, I admire how you did not use the words work or workers in that.
Because to state work or workers would have been wrong as those that are employed by local authorities have no idea what actual work is.

Tommy Gould was on radio talking about the march on "sarday" and ornery people

Did Tommy Gould tap Mr Jones or what jimmy? You seem to have a permanent fixation about the guy.

You know, for a guy you never even voted for TG seems to fill your every waking moment :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

People have moved away from where they were reared and built new lives, new friendships, Their kids join the local sports clubs,
The parents volunteer to help out, I hardly ever see the lads i grew up with but we keep in touch and meet up once or twice a year,
It is the cycle of life, My nephew and his partner and child moved to waterford recently, They were offered a council house there and took it,
They have started new jobs there and are happy, They didnt go down the " I want a house near my mam " route,

There are no available houses anywhere near yer mam jimmy, and at this rate there never will be - that's the whole point that you deliberately avoid addressing in your shilling here.

"Yeah, LFFG aren't doing a brilliant job in housing, but see if SF ever got in, we'd all be living in tents - except we couldn't even afford tents" seems to be your attitude when it's pointed out that despite FFG promising to improve housing matters they've done the reverse for many years.

Sad to see social housing plans put on ice due to costs but reality is value for money is important

Value for money depends on the benefits factored into the Cost Benefit Analysis jimmy. If it's just whether or not someone gets a roof over their head is different to whether someone becomes part of a vibrant community in which they feel they have a stake, has civic pride, improves "their" home and neighbourhood, leads to a reduction in deprivation and crime etc etc. "A rising tide lifts all boats" was a phrase used back in the day.

Alternatively, you could get in a consultant and ask them to provide a report saying whatever you'd like them to say - the man who pays the piper calls the tune.

Crocodile Tears aplenty.

Lol, don't know how the burghers of Gdansk and Brno will feel about the incoming uniform grey, bland , no gardens 600k box houses incoming. But they have a heat pump.

Anyone who believed that Eamon Ryan entered politics for civic pride and the greater good of his fellow man, and not to feather his own nest might be slowly realising just what a fraud he was.

It is well documented that people have turned down social houses because the house is not in their desired area,

Housing (or the lack thereof in this country) has been cited as the biggest obstacle to FDI. It rated as the highest, then Infrastructure, and Tariffs was third,

Housing! We need it but our I'm-alright-jack government don't think it's something that is so critical that it should have resolution as a matter of absolute highest priority 😞
