How many Irish people own holiday homes that they only use at weekends during the Summer?

Lots of potential "forever homes" could be brought into the market if the owners of these properties were severely penalised by the taxman for hoarding them for occasional use.

But why should people who worked hard all their lives to save up to be able to afford a holiday home be penalised for the government letting in way too many people into the Country that can't handle them??

Correct, Any person who has worked hard and has a holiday home for his family should be fully entitled to do whatever he wants
with it, If he wants to turn it into an AIR B&B then that is his right,
