My bro is teaching there ( years)and married to another teacher out there,’
He says they’re fuckin lunatics,

He initially went out there with his savings, redundancy etc
Ended up with a trollop,
Bled the fuckin eejit dry,
Hone busted within 2 years,
Couldn’t return to work as a toolmaker so ended up working for my brother in a bakery fir 3 years

Did an English language teacher course,
He’s Buddhist now, no drink wacky baccy,
Works all day teaching and more teaching online every evening,
Life is good seemingly

My own brother lived in Vietnam for a few years.. lived like a king on a western salary with asian outgoings, couldn't spend it!

Yeah, we will be well away from that border, Bangkok is as close as it gets by a good shot. I had a look into it and the Thais and Cambodian lads were flexing their muscles at each other a few months back, but backed down again. by all accounts it is a regular/ongoing thing due to a contentious border there, with some espionage thrown in for good measure!

Was there about 10 years ago for a few days, don't remember much about it tbh, kept waking up with a sore bum for some reason so watch out for sore bum disease or whatever it was that I caught I guess.
The temple with the big Buddha that's lying on its side was cool from what I can recall.

Three days in Bangkok?

Use the riverboat taxi to get around. By far the quickest way to get from one side of the city to the other.

Khao San Road is probably worth a look for an hour, you can fit in the grand palace on the same day.

Check out the night markets alright.
