I heard Marc Maron being interviewed about his new stand-up special this morning.

He uses a snippet of a Taylor Swift song, only a few seconds long and he was invoiced $50,000 for it.

Apparently that was cheap becasue he knows the co-writer of the tune, Jack Antonoff.

Theres a sound I cant put my finger on that she epitomises, theres a clatter of musicians like Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter etc pumping music that all sounds like this into that tween space that would absolutely wreck your head

Shake it off is a decent pop song I suppose but to be worth over a billion and not to have 10 or 12 recognisable hits is incredible.


Not aimed at us I suppose but wouldn't think much of her stuff.

Saw some of Olivia Rodrigo at Glastonbury, boring.

Extremely talented lady all the same. Shrewd business head on her. Her songs are pretty good, but it's not everyone's favourite genre maybe. Plus she seems very grounded considering her fame.

The genre of music that is produced by Swift is everything that’s wrong with modern music. Rubbish that’s released only for commercial success and no emphasis on writing quality songs. If I hear one more song about her love life!! That is if she hasn’t made up all that shite to make herself seem like an All American sweetheart
