Yes, his main companies are headquartered in Switzerland, Barbados and the US and have nothing to do with racing. The money he makes from horse racing is the thin end of the wedge

He has a son living with his family in Dublin and a daughter living with hers in limerick, paying taxes like the rest of us. One other son lives in Switzerland and the other in the states

The money he made here got him up and going, the money he has made outside of Ireland would dwarf it.

And hes Swiss Tax resident

Fair enough , thats his choice. But I dont need to hear what a wonderful guy he is if he gifts the amount he would drop in a casino to the GAA.

Did he buy Adare as a legacy/vanity/local pride type project? Absolutely, the chances are that he will never recover the money he paid plus the investment in the place. Whether this is a misplaced sense of pride or whatever you want to say, maybe so.. but he has the money so can do what he likes with it

Exactly.

The same as Trump.

Which is absolutely commonplace - In that case I assume you want Apple, Microsoft, all the Pharma guys go and pay their taxes in the US?
Oh I know that. And what he’s doing is perfectly legal.

But he’s hailed as some sort of hero in Limerick and in racing circles too because of all the money he gives to good causes.

You and I don’t have the luxury of deciding what causes are deserving of our tax revenues. We pay them to the state.

We kind of do but would probably have to set up tax residency in some war torn, poverty stricken hellhole rather than Switzerland or Monaco (except Greedy of course)!!
