Yes, his main companies are headquartered in Switzerland, Barbados and the US and have nothing to do with racing. The money he makes from horse racing is the thin end of the wedge
He has a son living with his family in Dublin and a daughter living with hers in limerick, paying taxes like the rest of us. One other son lives in Switzerland and the other in the states

Did he buy Adare as a legacy/vanity/local pride type project? Absolutely, the chances are that he will never recover the money he paid plus the investment in the place. Whether this is a misplaced sense of pride or whatever you want to say, maybe so.. but he has the money so can do what he likes with it

But he’s hailed as some sort of hero in Limerick and in racing circles too because of all the money he gives to good causes.
You and I don’t have the luxury of deciding what causes are deserving of our tax revenues. We pay them to the state.
