Surely everyone has an email account for exactly this stuff? But you can unsubscribe from marketing emails?
Every time I buy anything or have to give my email address they get a one I set-up so I never have to look at it or be bothered by their shit

Dunnes don’t do that though which is part of why I shop there. You get the €10 off €50 whether you have a value club card or not.Be better if they just sold things without trying to absolutely screw the customer.
"Oh you don't have a loyalty/club/happy-day card - tough titty, we're going to charge you even more!"

That's the point.. thousands and thousands of marketing emails I never have to see.. they are welcome to it. And if they are a bit smarter and make you verify the account that's no prob as their mail will be at the top of the pile of shite
Take a look at its inbox Honky. It's probably full of crap at this stage!
But you have to shop somewhere and it makes more economic sense to avail of the loyalty schemes than not.Dunnes give you 10 off what they're now charging 50 for and only if you bring the receipt from previous weeks purchases. You miss your weekly shop there (think they give you one "holiday" a year) and your receipts from the last shop become null and void - way to keep you hooked fellah
The inflation on foodstuffs has far outstripped wages in this country. I don't think Tesco even publish the profits they make here. They're all at it with slightly different twists but don't delude yourself that you're getting a bargain because something they'll charge you €50 for without last weeks receipt, they'll give to you for €40 if you have the receipt with you.

Inflation has outstripped wages without a doubt. I’m sure the supermarket chains have had increasing costs from suppliers too, increasing wage costs etc etc
