Dunnes don’t do that though which is part of why I shop there. You get the €10 off €50 whether you have a value club card or not.

Dunnes don’t do that though which is part of why I shop there. You get the €10 off €50 whether you have a value club card or not.

Dunnes give you 10 off what they're now charging 50 for and only if you bring the receipt from previous weeks purchases. You miss your weekly shop there (think they give you one "holiday" a year) and your receipts from the last shop become null and void - way to keep you hooked fellah

The inflation on foodstuffs has far outstripped wages in this country. I don't think Tesco even publish the profits they make here. They're all at it with slightly different twists but don't delude yourself that you're getting a bargain because something they'll charge you €50 for without last weeks receipt, they'll give to you for €40 if you have the receipt with you.

But if you could shop in a place that sells produce at a lot cheaper than Dunnes you might see what a false economy you've been sucked into with their receipts for the next shop trick.

Mrs used swear by Dunnes and the voucher scheme and she and her father used be passing receipts over and back. And then she missed out on one and went to Aldi and found their stuff much cheaper. We tend to do our main shop in Aldi (who don't have any ruse to their pricing) now rather than the false "economy" of Dunnes. Aldi still charge more than enough thank you very much but the Missus has a new rule "No Price - No Sale". If the price isn't clearly marked she doesn't get it. Still pick up the odd bits and bobs in other shops depending on convenience, what the kids want, what we've run out of etc but she had her eyes well and truly opened to the Dunnes scheme.
