Stuff that grinds your gears

I’ve no chance of doing the half next year but 10k is certainly achievable. My brother did the full marathon in about 3 and a half hours. Getting back running and trying to get fit would be the greatest way of honouring him.
Would be great to remember him that way
I remember seeing lots of runners on the 2 cork half marathons I did, with relatives who’ve passed, on their running tops as a memory (just a suggestion, mind you)

It was a tough weekend if I’m honest. The old man would have been running his last half marathon yesterday if he was still here.
Thats how it is for me BoppY, my dad is gone 9 years now, his anniversary was a few weeks back.. but dates like that mean little or nothing to me.. It's things that happen, events, stuff he'd have loved / been at, music etc that stop me in my tracks, and they're the hard ones to deal with.. thats when you really miss them like it only happened yesterday

Yeah I’ve been talking to a few people lately about grief and so on and the most common thing I’ve been told is you never get over it. You just learn to live with the grief.

A half marathon?

Most of the people on the course are volunteers, you'd hardly keep them out there for about 4 hours while you stroll around?! There is usually a cut-off at these things so you wouldn't be able to walk it anyway

 Didn't mean in the marathon as such - just build up to it. But you have a point about not making anyone have to wait around.

No, a 10K

Ya I think there is a cut off before they open the roads again
