The taxi driver I had was seriously aggressive. He was cursing and swearing. He shouldn't have taken me if he didn't want me in his car. It was really bad and I asked him was he alright but to be honest how are you supposed to deal with that. I've never come across any taxi in other countries going on so aggressively.

I was in a taxi in Dublin once where the driver went on a 10 minute tirade about how he wanted to kill Enda Kenny.

Ok another HB taxi story. This time I was pissed.

I was on my way home one night after a few too many bottles of orange and in no condition to have any form of a conversation. The taxi driver was quite offended by this and began muttering to himself ‘it’s ok, I’ll keep talking and you answer me if you want’.

Come to think of it he may have been trying to stop me from falling asleep.

My favey taxi story.. about 2 years ago around Christmas I was home and got in to a taxi in blackrock heading to the northside. The taxi driver takes me out on to the south ring, down the tunnel and I’m expecting him to go left then and over mayfield but he carrys straight on out the cork dub road. I asked him where he was going and he tells me this is the quickest way, grand job, takes me in to watergrasshill and then all of the way back across the countryside.

I just let him at it, got to my house and he had €80 on the clock. I gave him €20 which is around what it should have been, let him know that I knew where I was all along and he was an absolute prick.. and that he had just wasted the guts of an hour at peak time

Oh, I didn’t know, it was a mistake, time of year etc etc

On a family vacation and when we got back the taxi driver we got was crazy, going fast, complaining and taking his hands off the wheels, genuinely concerning, my Dad gave him a talking to and he was all apologies but he reported when we got in the house door.

Heading off for some very long overdue warm sunshine, and some strolling along the beach..

Followed by hopefully nice food, and a beverage or two.
