it would have to appeal to a wider audience, like the most recent movie. it would have to be more like a soap with continuing stortlines as apposed to one off episodes.
even star trek enterprise was very sci fi based. a new one would need to be more like The Hills then any previous Star Trek...the last movie worked because anyone could watch it without having to know what anti matter or a bussard collector was!!!!
