Springsteen to play Cork 2013

Of all the gigs to complain about the price Bruce is not the one. The man played for 4 hours during the Summer. 4 hours! I paid 20 for Crystal Castles a few years back and they played 35 minutes.

Still, fucking expensive...

Without sounding too anal {impossible really with what I'm about to type}
but I've seen el Boss between 8-12 times.
So I know what he gives in terms of value.
It's still expensive.
Cos you ain't paying for the experience of the venue.
With the crowd they're gonna get €70 would've been more than fair.
And they'll still make a massive wedge.

His gigs in RDS last summer were a similar price if not more expensive with booking fee thrown in bringing it up to around €110.
He played Sunderland for 50quid..

It's pure greed on behalf of the promoters.

Even in the good old days of "Packing them in" twas closer to 40,000.
With more stringent regulations now adays, it might well be less.

Interesting choice of venues, maybe the RDS, which he has played for the last 3 or 4 tours must be unavailable, or rental fees have gone up. Or maybe it's just because the Wresking Ball Tour has already been to Dublin.

The Kings Hall is relatively small, so it could well mean a big influx of Dubs into Cork unless he adds a Dublin date. I'd be guessing, Dublin gigs are not going to happen, as its still the "Wrecking Ball Tour" which commenced in 2012 & which has already toured in Dublin this year(2 gigs), so a second Cork gig might be on the cards. Theres is a big hardcore fanbase which go to all bruce gigs, so twil be good for hotels, restaurants, pubs etc in Cork.

Price wise, it's just a little more expensive than the last time, when the cheapest tickets were 86+ tm fees. its a small increase of 4 Euro. Its expensive, but it's the boos, they won't have a problem getting it.

Twil be great to see the Boss here.

Doubtful considering he is only playing a few miles up the road.

Great news. As there's been no gigs there since the mid 90's i always presumed the place was too run down, old and wouldn't meet health and safety standards. Makes you wonder why there's not been down anything on down there for so many years. Especially during the silly celtic tiger years. Anyway, hope to make it once I'm around. Have the locals kicked off yet?

Well whether you're a fan of the Boss or not and whether you think the price is worth it or not fair play to Aiken once again for acknowledging us and bringing big acts south. I hope this does well.

It still is in awful shape, they have been floating "plans" for several years, but it's still the same.

This genuine thread demonstrates the GAA are utterly incompetent to run any sizeable events at PUC, and that was 3 years ago:

40,000 id say...no way will it be 50 as some have suggested

It holds 44,000 on a match day and you will have people on the pitch on top of this. You will lose on terrace of 12,000 and probably another 2,000 in the stands. You could easily fit 15,000 on the pitch. Comes down to what health and safety say i suppose.
