We know our sovereignty was lost this time last year. This was a direct result of the sovereign subsuming huge private debt. Totally unjust, whatever way you cut it.
The debt is crippling, all the more so in the face of world economic stagnation/collapse.
If the debt is the problem, then debt write down is the likely solution. This looks like being tabled as part of a constitutional/treaty scenario in the near future.
Do we sell a little more of our sovereignty to save our skins?
How much budgetary/fiscal control do we permanently sign away?
Is it necessarily a bad thing to have europe ensure we don't lose the run of ourselves again?
Or do we tell merkozy to piss off with their interfering?
Do we prioritise the economic prospects of our children over their nationalistic aspirations, believing, in the words of Sam Hume, that 'you can't eat a flag'?
