Some Arty Farty Stuff.

Wrong thread perhaps and apologies if I take it off course.

Am I the only one who hasn’t a scooby do what the Arts correspondent on RTÉ do be on about when talking about the BAFTAS, Oscars etc etc?

Thread for that would be RTE empty pockets one 👉

What do you mean, that they are just rambling on about nothing?

It’s more that I don’t understand arts critics when they are talking about acting performances etc.

Just go and consume more of the arts as best you can and learn for yourself.

It doesn't have to be "high art" like opera or ballet or abstract work just go to stuff and decide what you like and what you don't like.

There is no other barrier to entry than your own enjoyment or otherwise no matter what the snobs think.

Cork is actually pretty well served on that front for a city it's size.

Midsummer fest is reliably versatile in that there is some for everyone.

Cork Film Fest is excellent too

I went to a folk singing club the other night, after a venture through The Park where an amazing singer was getting it on with some soul. At the folk club a fella from Grimbsy sang beautiful songs about horrific deaths, so a typical night of folk music, really... While I waited for the event to begin, listening to the woman in The Park, I typed up a blog post on my phone about drawing and sketching, online influencers, supporting the local economy where there's expertise you can trust and taking the time to get to know what you already have in your possession. All via the medium of art, or as this thread so endearingly calls it, "Arty Farty Stuff."

For the benefit of the many elderly folk in here I included pictures. Unfortunately I'm at the age, now, like my Dad warned me, where when someone presents me something to read the most important question needing answering is, "Are there pictures?"

There should be a lot of praise for the many small arts, and arts and craft shops, that are actually putting money into employees from Cork's pockets!
