Quite a number of people who shot and actually killed members of the paramilitary police force or even civilians, in this country at the time went on and served as Ministers, never mind being appointed to a board. And their appointment happened in a much shorter time than 33 years later.
Most people with any grasp of history recognise that things like that can happen in post-revolutionary periods. But hey, if your every waking minute is fixated on SF that's the kind of stuff that gets you excited
