I agree Israel has gone way too far, but then with what their people went through in WW2 may have left a permanent mark on them and perhaps they see it as proportional is they wipe a terrorist scum organisation off the face of the planet.

I don't agree. The Israelis are doing a fine job of being terrorist scum at the moment. Whatever moral highground they may have held over Hamas on the 8th of Oct is long gone.
