Sinn Fein are not a Normal Political Party

Fierce was raging on NT this morning about the program for government. Funny to listen him.
Same on morning ireland, I will have to listen back but im almost certain he said something like " The 5 years this govt have to reach housing targets is longer than the 5 years in SF plan" I will give him the benefit of the doubt until i listen back, Saying that they are all bluffers across the board,
James Lawless FF was on yesterday and when asked how 33k houses were built last year despite a 40k target he bluffed away saying we had over 40k commencements, Commencements can stop very quickly if the developer sees fit,

But I thought he was an expert on housing?

Same with Pearse in finance - he may be moved too according to rumours.
I'd say it's getting stale for them personally not to mention beginning to wear then with electorate. PD especially, though competent, comes across as bleak and angry pessimist whatever the subject. I'd say if the state found a massive seam of gold worth trillions buried deep under the Galtee mountains, Pearse would harangue them for not finding it earlier!! The hectoring Donegal accent doesn't help his case either.
Does he really want to rinse and repeat the same old shtick for next five years??

Claire Kerrane is seen as a rising star, She could replace Pearse in finance, Donnchadh has been in education and social protection, I wonder will
he keep his place?

Kerrane increased her share of FPV and is likely to be given bigger responsibility but I'd say housing or finance would be too much of a step up.

DOL a strange one - performs well in Dail but ran a fairly lacklustre GE campaign with SF vote in constituency well down on 2020. In 2020 SF outperformed the national share of the vote in Cork South central but in recent GE they polled only 15% compared to 19% nationally.
Mick Finn running as Indo may have taken chunk out of DOL's vote base mind you.

Pierce on newstalk saying that housing targets were missed last year and we only had 33k units built

Q4 figures aren't out til this day week lol
