Sinn Féin ex-councillor admits child abuse

The fact that SF took appropriate action when it was informed means I dont find any need to dodge anything....but you know that too!

And what appropriate action did Sinn Féin take to protect the numerous sex victims of Joe B. O'Hagan of whom Gerry Adams said:

"a republican legend ... Whether as soldier, prisoner, political activist, husband, father or friend, JB gave his fullest. He was an inspiration to younger generations of republicans and those of us who were privileged to know him well will mourn his passing deeply."

Or are you going to dodge that question also?

So what appropriate action did Sinn Fein take when Mary was rescued from the house by social workers in 1980 and had to spend 3 months in hospital. This is what Mary said:

"Over 100 local women protested outside our house the night Social Services took me away so why did Sinn Fein give her senior positions within the party years later?"

Evidence that Sinn Féin are sex abuse enablers?

Check.

why indeed ?

To be honest if you are going to attack SF about child abuse then you will have to examine, FF, FG, Labour all in power in the Republic when children were being systematically raped in state run or sponsored institutions right up to the 80's. It is obvious from the reports that Ministers in all Governments since 50's were aware of the abuse yet they did nothing to ease the plight of the abused, hence why they are keeping their mouths shut on subjects such as these. So who of the political elite carry the greatest guilt?

I thought that is what the thread is about. Would you prefer if I did not criticise Sf ? SF councillor allegedly maltreats child- should nop one comment?

Look slagging is run of the mill on threads such as SF shower of knuckle heads etc but Westie is just using some poor abused child to claim SF are a crowd of child abusers which is a bit much and a bit extreme to say the least. If he thinks that this is going to turn people off SF it will probably do the opposite because it makes Westie look extreme not them.

I have no problem attacking any political party (or Church) that has covered up child abuse. However this thread is about the abuse meted out to Mary Meehan by her step mother, Briege Meehan, up until 1980 when Mary was taken into care and spent three months in hospital recovering from the beatings and malnutrition. The locals all knew what had happened (it was a neighbour who heard Mary sobbing in the attic and called Social Services). Instead of being arrested for child cruelty by the RUC, Briege was allowed to stay free and subsequently was promoted through the ranks of Sinn Féin. One wonders why.

I would say to you to read the OP and that explains everything. I know that Westie can get a tad overexcited and hyperenthusiastic, but I take his point on this one.
