We're in no position to turn up our noses at "solid" players. With Given gone, right now we have maybe 2 or 3 players I would call solid. I'd happily take a few more midfielders with equivalent ability to Bonner.

I won't judge him on a friendly, but after the euros you would expect a big performance tomorrow.

We'll have to wait and see. If it's business as usual then i can't see the FAI having any choice but to sack him. They can't go another couple of years with a barely half full Lansdowne Road for the home matches.

Shouldn't have played in the Euros, was clearly unfit - which accounts for his poor performances.

Apart from that, he has been one of Ireland's best ever and most consistent players. Rather unlucky that Joe Hart came along, otherwise may have a few medals under his belt.
