''BILLY DAVIES' long-term future at Nottingham Forest is in doubt as the club continue to use David Pleat to approve all transfers.

Forest's fiery Scottish boss Davies, 44, is at odds with the City Ground hierarchy over the club's transfer policy.

The former Derby manager, in charge at Forest since January, feels undermined and wants more control over who the struggling Championship club sign. Davies spoke out in frustration after the club failed to sign any of his targets in the window - bemoaning Forest's football consultant Pleat for the lack of activity.

But Forest chairman Nigel Doughty is continuing to work with his pal Pleat and insists the former manager-turned-media pundit has the final word on the acquisition of players.''
