Just watched this film in The Gate Cinema - it was actually a better watch than I thought it would be, despite the complete miscasting of Mick McCarthy.
7/10
Watched it last night. Thought it was fairly shit, to be honest. The team meeting scene had a decent bit of tension in it but the rest of it was far too full of soundbite and montage. There was a load of real footage in it too which made it a docu-drama.
Oh, and Mick was made out to be a bumbling idiot. There was no need for all the stuttering from Coogan.
Tbh its probably been one of the most forensically dissected events in recent Irish history and extensively covered in numerous books and documentaries.
I dunno is anyone going to glean anything new from a dramatisation. Maybe if youd just landed from Mars?.
