I always liked Ryan Tubridy from the getgo. Right back to his first interview with the then Taoiseach Brian Cowen. Asked some tough questions and didn't let up. A welcome change in my eyes to previous hosts of the show always skirting around getting straight answers. Afraid to upset the apple cart. Tubridy held strong I thought and did very well.
I liked his humour too, always had a well placed quip. And then brought the Toy show to another level. Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but I thought he was always brilliant.
As for the RTE debacle. He was hung out to dry afaic and up against the systemic failure that was RTE as he said himself, and I agree.
There were a lot of people a part of that particular episode only too happy to let Tubridy take the hit.
