Xi and Vlad are signing agreements all over the place to pipe more cheap oil and gas from Ru to PRC.

If the West stops buying Xi's cheap crap, it won't matter if Vlad pipes all his carbohydrates to Xi for 10 cents on the dollar - Xi won't need it.

His masses earning 100 bucks/month will struggle to buy food and he's toast in no time.

Angela Merkel kept the peace for her time in power and she was not bullied by France, Britain and US to get involved in interventionist wars.

Russia had a chance to be a modern wealthy European country with one foot in Asia however they got an autocratic corrupt dictator who along with his criminal friends took all the resources and cash and hollowed out the state and it has now confirmed its status as Chinas weak bitch.
 
US & China are by far, the two largest economies in the world. Together they account for 40% of world GDP. China is taking a leading role on the manufacture of some high tech material and in sourcing vital components such as Lithium.

The current tension threatens the recovery of an already fragile world economy, a recovery that is impacted by recent banking concerns in US and Switzerland.

There is no quick fix to the issues confronting us right now particularly the main issue of climate control.

However, the actions of Ru and the clear support for those actions by PRC will have a profound effect on the world political and trading order.

Irrespective of the impact of Donald Trump (and that should not be underestimated - DeSantis is already back tracking on his 'territorial dispute' gaff ) - in the medium term, we are going to see a major reset of policy by the Western Democratic World.

Most people in Europe are, of necessity, more focused on their rent, mortgage and grocery cost increases and have little interest in Geopolitics and/or Global Trade.

However, I am certain that the catastrophic events of 24.2.22 will have a profound impact on Western Attitudes towards Ru and PRC, going forward. We have no other choice but to achieve a workable peace in Ua and then develop clear economic & political strategies to counter the threat of the autocratic, authoritarian axis - PRC & Ru.

The days of sleep walking and political appeasement are over. Macron and Scholz have been a little slow in understanding this but they are fully on board now. The days of making calls to the Monster in Moscow are over.

Putin wanted to restore Ru to the old position of soviet dominance - instead it's become a glorified gas station for China.

The one time in the last century that he managed to get a properly democratically elected leader- Yeltsin. - he turned out to be a pathetic old drunk.

That's the kind of clear policy statements that we need from Western Leaders
