Russia's unjustifiable war of aggression in Ukraine

Kinburn peninsula sounds almost like a place in County Clare if I'm honest.
Very important because it controls the estuary of the Dinipro and the Ukrainians are now across the Dnipro and can open another front on the Russians from the south. On another point landed in Cherbourg yesterday and saw some serious looking armoured naval boats being constructed in a boatyard there. These looked suitable for inshore and river use.

Unintended Consequences ?
Armenia’s criticism follows comments from Kazakhstan’s president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the UN general assembly in September during which he implicitly criticised Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Emil Avdaliani, a professor at the European University in Tblisi, Georgia, and director of Middle East studies at the Geocase thinktank, said Armenia was trying to diversify its foreign relations in light of Russia’s weakness.

He said: “Dependence on Russia is deadly, so Yerevan is seeking rapprochement with Turkey, closer ties with the EU, Iran and China.

“This is a result of Moscow’s half-hearted approach toward Armenia and most of all Russia’s weakening position in the south Caucasus as a result of its increasingly unsuccessful war in Ukraine.”

Outside the CSTO summit, Armenian protesters had called for Russia to leave Ukraine.

“The protests indicate a shift in Armenia’s perception of Russia,” Avdaliani said. “Its unreliability as an ally has grown palpable. Anti-Russian sentiments always were present among Armenia’s political elites, but now it turns into resentment.

Is there any chance Ukraine could fire a couple of missiles at Moscow or even an artillery round or two across the border?
Considering the amount of drones and missiles landing in Kiev they would be well within their rights.
They can't. The US would stop supplying them with arms if they fired on Moscow.

It's a balls of a situation in fairness.

The Ukrainians would be within their rights to strike a Russian city but:
- that would play into the false Russian narrative that Ukraine is the aggressor in this war.
- they don't have the long-range missiles to do it (Moscow is 400-500km from the border, St Petersburg is about 1100km)
- they don't have the support from the countries who give them weapons for such a move
- although it might make people feel good about sticking it to the Russians, there's no real tactical gain.

You know things are bad when Armenia's looking to make friends with Turkey

well the Russian propaganda is on the down side recently...
