I think he said Hungary won't be sending money to Ukraine but won't be stopping the EU doing it either. If he really wants the orcs to fock off then he needs Fico to get fucked too.

With Orban gone (please God ), I would think Fico will have the pragmatism to moderate his anti-EU stance as he no longer has strength in numbers

Magyar was originally part of Orban's party so there's always that concern that he might turn as well. That said, what choice so the EU have ?

My hope (no more than that) is that Fico will wither without Orban, though one could see Russia throwing all their nest of eggs into the Fico basket, if Orban loses.

Fico leads a country with roughly the same population as Ireland. He was a useful sidekick for Orban, but he doesn’t have the brains or the influence to go it alone in terms of being an obstacle to the EU’s plans.

Completely agree. My thought was that even if Orban "won", the EU would put massive pressure on Fico to vote for Article 7. He's only starting out to do what Orban did in Hungary, so he's not totally secure.
