Russia's unjustifiable war of aggression in Ukraine

Election in April and Orbans party currently behind on the polls.
One would like to believe he'll lose but he's been screwing with the judicial and electoral system.

The EU have clearly been holding off on dealing with Hungary until the results, which Hungarians must realise this is effectively a referendum on their EU future.

True but Mini Trump (Orban) has a base of Thicko Rural Rednecks. I think Orban will get a narrow victory and the EU will need an eviction mechanism

He does but I don't think he has ordinarily enough of the total voting population to keep him in power, hence all this false flag crap, and vote suppression influencing. As so many young people emigrated, the age cohort left are far less computer literate and open to influence.

There is no direct way to expel an EU member, but the EU can make it very uncomfortable for them to stay

eg
  • Suspension via Article 7: While involuntary expulsion is not possible, Article 7 permits the suspension of certain rights if a member violates core EU principles, though this requires unanimous support.
And that last bit needs Fico in Slovakia to vote with the EU. There's an opinion out there that Fico is in a far weaker position than Orban, and he might buckle to agree if enough pressure is put on him.

I think the EU has had enough, but are leaving this election play out to see if Hungarians want to be in the EU or not.
