⚠ A drone attack in the Novorossiysk Bay damaged the central superstructure of the Russian frigate Admiral Essen.
This resulted in the detonation of PK-10 passive screen grenade launchers, located on the sides of the superstructure and designed to launch dipole reflectors and thermal screens.
Among the damaged ship's electronics components was the TK-25 electronic warfare system, used to detect enemy radar emissions and deploy active radio screens.
Furthermore, the ZR-90 "Orekh" target illumination radars, part of the ship's missile guidance system and used to illuminate air targets during the final stages of missile flight, were also damaged.
Furthermore, shrapnel likely damaged the Fregat-M2M's main surveillance radar, responsible for long-range detection of air and surface targets and creating a preliminary radar image for fire command systems.
As of March 3rd morning, units hit in Ukrainian attacks were:
the frigate "Admiral Essen" (hit),
the frigate "Admiral Makarov" (questionable),
