An alternative view on that is Netanyahu kept it going because he knew Biden couldn't do anything about it in the run up to the US election. That he agreed to the ceasefire as soon as Trump won, lends credence to that view.

The situation in Ukraine is a mess, all parties created this situation now the US has been on the right side of history at times like WW2 and ending the Cold War but they also have been on the wrong side like Cuba, Vietnam, South Africa & Syria with the last one they tried to overthrow a secular Muslim country.

They on occasion get it right but many many times they are wrong.
