Roy Keane out for 2 months

I think a lack of challenge to Chelsea could hamper their chances in Europe. It's very hard for a team to turn it on and off week after week.

Someone said that RVN has lost his pace, since when has he ever had pace. Look at Teddy, still going at 39 and as slow as a snail

it's been a strange ol start alright. Utd, Pool, Tottenham v shy up front but as soon as they catch a break they'll start flying in and no doubt andy gray will be first one to poke a fat double chin into the camera saying "told ya so".

someone needs to beat chelsea, pool playing them twice in a couple of weeks could be the time.

Eircom league is heating up anyway so it's not all doom and gloom. come on City!

He's the not the type of player who has to be seen all the time (unlike his counterpart today). I agree with Aphex, it was'nt exactly a vintage game.

Is this the latest criticism of Gerrard, he "needs to be seen"?? Mindless.

The Keane fans have perpetuated a myth that if you don't notice Roy Keane then he has had a good game. Bollocks. Yes he's not going to be flashy, pinging about 40 yard crossfield passes etc. but if he's actively involved in a game you'll notice him. He barely touched the ball in the first 60 minutes (bar for a few nothing backward passes) & was very very average overall.

IMHO Gerrard was a good shout for man of the match (with Crouch & Van Der Saar both having good claims). Keane was part of a 32 man united midfield which sat ridiculously deep and showed minimal appetite for going forward. Gerrard was equally prominent in defence (putting in a far few tackles) & attack (a number of shots & crosses) and performed the box to box role well.

Liverpool were the more positive of the two teams but weren't silly enough to throw caution to the wind and leave themselves open to counter-attacks on the break.

Gerrard was no more better than any of the midfielders on display even the non-blinkered Liverpool observer Steven Kelly described him as receiving man-of-the-match despite being on auto-pilot.
Liverpool were at home and hardly that positive (no goals from open play, only one all season and that against Sunderland where the keeper was caught out badly and the opposition eneded up with ten men).
As for Keane, before he was hacked out of the game in the final couple of minutes (Comments?) he was very solid and protected his defense (not that they needed much) and most observers will agree that he played quite well. It was up to United's more attacking players to break down the Liverpool defense but fair play to Liverpool they desereved their point.

Which means that he was the best player on the park despite not playing anywhere near his best. Defences were decidedly on top but of the midfielders on show Gerrard played the best.

Liverpool were as positive as they could be without leaving them exposed to united's counter-attacks. I'd rather take the point than play into Fergie hands by leaving us short on the back. Their 7 man defence was hard to penetrate.

Sunderland - Scored 1 and could/should've scored more
Boro - Totally dominated them & only our suspect finishing prevented a rout
Spurs - Not our best performance ever but had a goal disallowed and Riise hit the bar
Utd - It was always going to be tough to break down such a resolute defence.

atmosphere wise. Its been so dead at OT recently that it was really enjoyable yesterday for first time. The scouse were mute, thus us singing this is your longest minute of silence but they did have their moments of biting in the first half that made it deafening. Our end and to the left were mint, obv, i cant hear the rest of the stadium.

Bollocks! I was next to the Utd fans and every time they started a chant they were shouted down. Pull the other one- you might get milk!
