Take the Fox away from discussing Cork-Clon and he makes a lot of sense. Burns strikes me as being as sanctimonious as that other Norn interloper, Mary McAleese.Let’s have it right Burns stuck his oar in here because it was a high profile case of an alleged assault against a woman and he saw it as another opportunity to virtue signal and bolster his credentials as an uber progressive “good guy” protector of the oppressed classes.
Curating this public image for himself has been his overriding goal in his presidency rather than addressing actual GAA issues.
Gallagher, scumbag and all as he might be, is far from the only one managing a Gaa team. He is dead right to pursue this. I look forward to Burns public apology.

This was all about Burns increasing his profile and curating his public image. His ambitions beyond the GAA presidency is obvious as is his alignment to "the cause".
If Burns' actions were well intended and really borne out of concern for anyone other than himself, he would have shut up after he sent the letter instead of going on the LLS and dragging Gallagher, his family life and his kids through the mud on national TV.
And yet the MSM - the Sindo in particular, if I recollect properly- took those posts verbatim as a stick to Gallagher. Don't trust anything you read or hear through the media.Your ones Facebook post coincidentally dropped when Gallagher was awarded custody of their kids.
