A full apology issued plus an endorsement that he is fully clear to train whoever would do.. Costs awarded against the defense and a few bob to RGbut it's hard to see how a court case of this nature can ultimately harm Burns and the GAA more than it could harm Gallagher himself.
It was some overreach from Burns alright. He doesn't own CLCG.Let’s have it right Burns stuck his oar in here because it was a high profile case of an alleged assault against a woman and he saw it as another opportunity to virtue signal and bolster his credentials as an uber progressive “good guy” protector of the oppressed classes.
Curating this public image for himself has been his overriding goal in his presidency rather than addressing actual GAA issues.
Gallagher, scumbag and all as he might be, is far from the only one managing a Gaa team. He is dead right to pursue this. I look forward to Burns public apology.

Imo there was malice and the reputational damage is clear. That Burns almost immediately went on the Late Late and stated he wouldn't withdraw the email left Gallagher little option but to go through the courts.
Gallagher has not been charged or prosecuted for any crime. He has vehemently denied the allegations of his former partner.
Burns intervention with Naas GAA cost Gallagher publicly and professionally. He strikes me as a sanctimonious individual and he left himself and the organisation wide open to legal action. I hope the courts instruct him to make a full public apology.

Ah look based on what was published by friends of theirs it would seem they had a toxic violent relationship. It’s alleged she even ended up in hospital with injuries on one night out etc. The girl that took her to the hospital put up a load of stuff online a few years ago. I think the ex wife gave him plenty of it too and she had her own issues etcWe all want to believe the woman when these claims are made.
