Redevolpment of Pairc Ui Chaoimh

That sounds like little more than O’Flynn kite flying to be honest. They’ve gone through the first stage of the new process for it, they’re not going back to start again to let even more sites in that didn’t put themselves forward last year.

Fucks sake, might as well drive them in the front door of the stadium altogether. What’s wrong with people getting off the bus outside at the road and walking 200 meters?
The new Luas route put out today would see removal of that access for a Luas stop, so puts the spanner in it anyway.

The only reason I'd even consider it is if there was a deal involved which helped clear the debt remaining on Pairc Ui chaoimh. Then there might be an opportunity to purchase land elsewhere and develop a proper centre of excellence.

limericks submitted plans are something else.

Unbelievable stuff for Limerick, we badly need something in Cork. A county our size should be able to make it happen. Getting Pairc Ui chaoimh debt free would surely allow the opportunity to make it possible.

I would think there's something more than kite flying to it MOF doesn't usually come out with off the cuff remarks. He's been involved with PUi C a long time.

Maybe it's a pitch to MM for a Bertie style additional contribution to help wipe the debt as happened with Croke Park?

Could we see PuiC becoming a quasi municipal stadium in return?

It’s a pitch at selling PUC to the state perhaps.

That's the right decision
Could have been handled way better,I’ve an elderly relative down that way,the parking situation is already at crisis levels with the people driving down there for their walks and people parking badly back as far as the silver key to go to marina market ,mental ,imagine if the event center is built down there on any site and you would have high frequency bus turning on that site ,you also have all the new apartments with no parking ,I pity anyone living or about to live down there as it stands let alone the hell it will become when mummy drops the little darlings as close to the concerts as possible, and imagine the Albert Road congestion if that goes ahead .

An old man told me once that there are only 2 cities in the world where the poor have the best views ,Rio and Cork.
