Rats in City Council Estates

I remember a few years ago down in Mahon seeing skipo bags in front gardens full of refuse. I was told the householder wouldn’t pay for refuse collection. Instead they’d let the rubbish pile up in the knowledge that the council would take them away before rats became too much of a problem. Scum!😡
The council do not remove rubbish from houses or gardens 🤷‍♂️

Where in Mahon was this?

Strongly doubt the neighbours would put up with that.

It was pretty close to Eden I think. I was astounded at it myself. One of the locals explained it to me.

I can only say I go through Eden most nights 'and have done so for years' and have never seen that Yermon.

Eden is also a private residential area and again I doubt the neighbours would put up with that.

I did see a few rats scattering around there while the new development was being built but that's normal with any new development.

Not Eden itself. These were two corpo houses I’d say pre-Covid. It was appalling.

That's a really old story that's told that the council will take away rubbish if it's not disposed of. More often than not, it's false
