WW2 is almost romanticised.

There is no romance or glory in the Balkan Wars. Srebenica is not like Auschwitz. Srebenica is a place that will scar you if you go there. When you come away from one of the Nazi Concentration Camps you come away with some hope that things will get better and lives weren't lost in vain. Srebenica is just different, I can't explain why

I’ve family that served in Bosnia with the UN, they say they are completely mentally scared by what they saw over there, same guys have been on every UN peacekeeping mission in the past 60 odd years involving Irish armed forces but nothing compares to Bosnia

people go on about how the croats are probably the soundest of the lot down there but they were very quick to jump into the bed with the nazis and use their policy as a jumping board to kill off who they wanted to.

don’t get me wrong, in recent history the bosnian serbs are the baddies but the croats killed/murdered more of them during ww2 than they did jews which was the directive from berlin

Sarajevo is a fabulous city, I'd recommend everyone should go there. Cheap as chips also.
