Rate the last movie you watched out of 10

I haven't seen at lot of the other ones, I gave up when Lucasfilm/Marvel expected me to learn/remember more about each of the characters' history than I know I about my own family.

Of those that I have seen; I would only rate "Rogue One" and "The Last Jedi".

Overloaded/burnt out on them. Same as comic book films/TV shows. Last thing I really enjoyed was the original Netflix "The Punisher".

When it was once in a blue moon thing - "Batman" in 1989, "Blade" in 1998, the first Sam Raimi "Spiderman" in 2002 or Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy - it felt like an event.

Now if feels like "Coronation St." with capes.

andor is more Star Wars for grown ups, no Jedi in it, no lightsabers, no cutesy crap bar one droid.... it's sort of the rebellion at ground level

Tony Gilroy was the Andor showrunner. He wrote the first 3 Bourne movies , directed the one with Jeremy Renner and directed Michael Clayton with George Clooney.

He co-wrote Rogue One and directed the reshoots for that movie.

Its amazing that you get good shows/movies when you hire people with a track record of delivering quality tv shows/movies.

JJ Abrams has a solid track record of delivering medicore movies. Lost was decent enough but dont think he was involved for long.

Obsession 8/10

Bear, an introverted music shop employee, develops a crush on his co worker Nikki. Too scared to express his feelings to her, he makes a wish on a novelty toy that she would love him more than anything in the world. As you might expect the wish comes true and thus begins the free fall into his worst nightmare.

Based around the tired trope of "be careful what you wish for" and the monkey paw, this adds a new unique take to that well worn idea. Critics are also leaning into to the subtext of the dating scene in an a modern age, which I can see to an extent.

Directed,produced,edited and starring newbie Curry Baker, this new wave of YouTuber movies is taking the film scene by storm. Made on a meagre budget of 1 mil, is now at 400mil at the box office.

I'm still thinking about some of the more terrifying moments a day later, which is always an indicator of a great movie.

Yup, think the last superhero thing I went to to was the last Thor movie. A turd of a movie.

Theres so many shows and spinoffs now they're just following a set formula, 'crash, bang , wallop, its a superhero movie'.

Minions vs Monsters.

Summer holidays fare. Erra was better than I expected tbh. Decent voice cast Trey Parker, Christoph Waltz, Allison Janney.

Couple of laugh out loud moments aimed at the parents in the audience. The halfling loved it.

6/10. Job done.

This was Taiki Waititi, hes overdosed the quirky, oddball shit that worked in the 3rd movie.

Im a fan of the comics and they tried to crowbar two big storylines into the one movie and its just a bloated, uneven mess.

If I was guessing Id say Chris Hemsworth will be killed off in the new Avengers multiplex filler. Hes at those movies close to 20 years now.

Theyre aiming these films at teens but its not landing with the older comic book guy audience that read the comics back in the day. Movies by numbers.
