"Lost In Translation". 8.5/10

Much better than I remembered from seeing it in the cinema upon its release where I thought it interminably boring and self-absorbed.

Somehow I found the film more relatable now that I am closer in age to Murray's character than Johansson's (when I first saw it).

Something that I never realised before; Johansson is playing a character in her mid-20s. When Coppola filmed this - SJ was 17.

Not a film but a documentary about the Ukraine war

2000 Meters To Andriivka

A journalist joins a Ukrainian platoon trying to liberate a village from Russian forces.

Brings the reality of what's happening home.

It's on sky documentaries if anyone wants to see it.

In honour of James Van Der Beek..

Varsity Blues 6/10

Enjoyable old American football yarn that anyone under the age of 30 would probably turn off now after 10mins for being "too problematic".
Ms Davis the sex ed teacher turning out to be a stripper was a particular high point.
I asked my wife after if she would do a whipped cream bikini for me some time, she said I'll be lucky to get a Choc Ice.
A few of the scenes that both JVDB and Paul Walker shared feel particularly poignant now.
I enjoyed it for the nostalgia alone.
Great soundtrack too.
