i watched it with my children. i think a lot of the jokes went over their heads but they got some decent lolz from it. as is such with the recent generations they were a bit shocked by the casual racism in it. maybe the jews can get away with it a little bit more

i had a litttle delve into mel brooks’ life after it. he served during ww2! and he’s nearly 100 years old. an absolute legend! i have an LP somewhere in the house of the “to be or not to be” soundtrack. pretty random but pretty hilarious.

Mel Brooks is a legend. Blazing Saddles is my favourite.

Ready or Not 6/10

After the wedding ceremony of a young woman, her new in-laws force her to participate in a seemingly innocent game. Things soon turn bloody and sinister, revealing the sick rituals of the family.

This was great. In the same vain as the recent heart eyes, it's a potluck of comedy horror. As always, at 90mins, it gets an extra point and a solid date night movie for all you virgins.

I love everything about it. I prefer it to nightmare before Christmas, though the kids prefer that.

Can't make them sit through Cordaline though. The button eyes freak the fuck out of them.

I've always preferred Corpse Bride over Nightmare too.
Better story, better animation (but not so good that it looses it's charm). Re watched it last week and the 5yo kind of got into it but it's still probably a year or two too early for her.
Tried rewatching Coraline as well and I'd forgotten how slow paced it is. About 15/20 mins too long imo.
