I'll definitely give it another spin when it comes out on streaming. The way all the women were fawning over Olsen was funny though
I went in cold and tbh I enjoyed it.
I really , really have gone off reviews in general. You get someone who is incapable of throwing together 300 words without giving away some major aspect of the plot.It takes away from the movie experience.
The main dude was perfectly cast. Nicholas Hoult had a ball as Lex Luthor, really chewing the scenery.
I agree its very much a James Gunn joint but thats why DC hired him and I think he delivered.
Goofy action with a heart.( & liberal lashings of Nathan Fillion).
The superhero genre is very much a cooked goose at this point. We're on the fifth(?) iteration of Batman since 89. This is SuperMan number three since Christopher Reeve hung up the cape. The X-men are on their 3rd set of casting. (Don't start me on all the awful Marvel tv shows).
Id say Gunn has very much delivered his SuperMan among the cluttered jumble of the DC/Marvel megaplex crowdpleasers. I think its (just about) the best Supes since Donner's SuperMan II.
The Lois & Clark dynamic works and even Jimmy Olsen delivers. I was undecided at first but Krypto won me over at the end.
I'll give it a respectable 7/10.
No Otisburg, big fail
Id completely forgotten about that movie.Singers Supes suffered as his Lois was shockingly miscast. Routh was OK but there wasn't a whole lot of story there.
