a student of military history. it occurred to me one night recently that I'd probably never end up watching it, so i decided to power through and do it that same evening.
a hell of a picture. the opening scene is of he standing in front of a giant stars and stripes, which may ring a bell. he gets in big trouble for hitting a soldier but gets a recall for the attack on Germany.
some great scenes of tanks rolling through the hills of europe. i found i had to remind myself it was real because we're so used to cgi.
there's a good scene where he speaks of his love of the battlefield.
i enjoyed patton. i will go as high as 8.5.
