He did veer away from his usual style with "The Wind That Shakes The Barley", "Land And Freedom", "Looking For Eric" and "Carla's Song".
"Sweet Sixteen" is a superb film though. One of his best if not the best imho.

Liam Cunningham plays a Dublin Train Driver trade unionist running around West Cork with a flying column.

Same with Land and Freedom, it'd all be okay if the commies and the anarchists work together.

I like Loach's movies but he's feirce one note.

I Daniel Blake is a great flick but possibly the most depressing example of all.
