Yeah I've read a couple of Nesbo's books and they're not great.
Maybe its lost in translation.

Think that one got greenlit off the back of the weird global fascination with those Dragon tattoo books/movies.

The big twist was just meh, and there was a big subplot that just seemed to be forgotten about in the denouement. lol.



The Fessbender seems to have made some awful choices alright, he was threatening the A-list for a spell then delivered a rake of turkeys , that Ridley Scott movie The Counsellor he did was a shocker , as were those X-men sequels and Assassin's Creed (yikes). He wa sin some Taiki Waititi thing 'Next goal wins' that I havent seen but its meant to be dreadful.

He's v good in Steve Jobs and I liked him in Prometheus ( not so much the sequel)

Think he was racing touring cars there for a couple of years.

The Killer was very good but I dont know did it find an audience. Movies going out on streaming services dont really get much awards buzz.

Tbf to him hes worked with some of the biggest directors going (Tarantino, Scott, Fincher), he must be doing something right.

Don't forget his cameo as Republican / Provo Dad in "Kneecap"

I've heard its funny but those come off as auch complete bellends in any press Ive seen that I can't bring myself to watch it.

saw the Jobs flick at the film festival whenever it came out

was very disappointed with it, wayyyyyy too much about him and his daughter, could have done with less Winslet as well tbh

was hoping for more about the genesis of apple and how they came up with the various marketing campaigns, the battles with scully, next, coming back into apple, etc, etc

It's the late-to-cop-on to-a-decent-band media fawning that produces the bellend impression. Their tunes are decent and they're well able to act. Plus, again, the film has an excellent script. Defo worth a watch - available on Prime ATM. They're f***heads for sure, but FFS, they're just kids - which makes the media stuff even more embarassing.

Watch it now lad, before all the global hype / Late Late Show Specials / Marty Morrissey visits to Belfast during Oscar season.

didn't find it funny at all tbh apart from one scene, doubt I'll ever watch again

the main guy was a pretty good actor I thought, and the bloke playing the teacher too, the tubby chap in the band not so good

Fassbender was good and the prod chick was a lasher, but overall it wasn't for me as I'm not really into their music which I found boring and I couldn't give a rats arse about the 'oo-ah-up the ra' type angle the script seemed to be pushing




however the good lady I was with at the cinema seemed to enjoy the film thoroughly so maybe it's just me not being 'down' with the young folk and their japery anymore
