He returns to bring the man and family back to America to repay the debt that haunts him. All this as the Taliban hunt them down. Good action film with a hefty (Taliban) body count.

totally historically inaccurate BUT 'where eagles dare' is a rip-roaring boys own tale full of juicy twists and features clint eastwood taking out half the wehrmacht single-handed, huzzah!
